Border controls between Bulgaria and Romania lifted on July 1

Border control on the Bulgarian-Romanian border was lifted at midnight. When Bulgaria and Romania entered Schengen by land on January 1 this year, it was announced that the border between the two countries would be strengthened for 6 months.

This was a condition for Austria's agreement to the two countries joining the Schengen zone.
